Porsche is working on a high-performance version of its Taycan EV. Rumoured to be called the ‘Taycan GT’, the new variant could pack more than 1000 hp.

The upcoming Porsche Taycan GT was recently spotted at the Nurburgring. The test mule was sporting an aggressive body kit replete with a large rear spoiler and a prominent splitter with large end plates. A clear indication that this is no ordinary Taycan.

Reports suggest that the Taycan GT could be powered by three electric motors, generating over 1000 hp. Other details, including battery specifications, are still unclear.

Earlier this year, the Tesla Model S Plaid set a Nurburgring lap time of 7 min 25.231 seconds, beating the Taycan Turbo S. It seems Porsche could reclaim the bragging rights with the upcoming GT.
