Rolls-Royce has unveiled yet another coach built masterpiece at Pebble Beach this year. It’s called the Droptail La Rose Noire – one of four bespoke builds.

The Rolls-Royce Droptail is based on a monocoque created exclusively for this project. It uses a mix of aluminium, steel and carbon fibre components.

According to Rolls-Royce, cars like the 1912 Silver Ghost ‘Sluggard,’ the 1925 Silver Ghost Piccadilly, and the 1930 Phantom Brewster New York Roadster were the inspiration behind the Droptail. The car gets a bespoke exterior with a modern interpretation of the ‘Pantheon’ grille and sleeker LED headlamps.

Adding a contemporary look to the rear end is a floating spoiler neatly integrated into the bodywork and vertical LED taillights. The company claims that it took over 2 years and 20 iterations to develop the tapered rear fascia.

The La Rose Noire is painted in a secret base coat, followed by five layers of clear lacquer, each blended with a slightly different shade of red. Even the 22-inch wheels are painted in color-shifting Mystery and diamond milled. The interior, though, features a familiar look. That being said, it gets a unique colour scheme and materials. It also comes with a removable carbon fibre roof with electrochromic self-tinting glass.

Under the hood is a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that makes 30 hp more than its standard iteration.
