Pagani has released a teaser image of the upcoming Huayra R. The image shows the silhouette of the Zonda R – The track version of the Zonda. The Huayra R will be its spiritual successor.

It seems like the Huayra R’s styling could be heavily inspired by its predecessor. It might get a large fixed rear spoiler and cooling ducts on the rear fenders. It is likely to get a prominent roof scoop and an intricate rear diffuser as well.

Just like the Zonda R, the Huayra R is expected to be powered by a naturally aspirated V12 motor. We’ve been told that it’s a brand new engine built by AMG and has been developed in collaboration with HWA – these are same folks who developed the Apollo IE’s V12 unit. The engine revs to over 9500 rpm and puts out over 900 hp!

One of the key components that enables the engine to rev to over 9000 rpm is a finger follower that controls the intake and exhaust valves. It weighs just 22 gm.
