Images of a mysterious Ferrari prototype have surfaced online. At first glance, it looks like a 458 Italia. But, look closer and you will notice that underneath the bodywork is a hybrid powertrain. So, what is Ferrari really up to?

The test mule has strakes on the bonnet and prominent scoop on the engine cover. You will also be able to spot a set of orange cables through the mesh grille at the rear. The rear clam shell has two air vents on either side. Also note, that the quad exhausts look larger than the ones found on the standard 458. Whatever this car is, it is mostly likely packing a hybrid.

The Ferrari Dino is rumoured to debut in 2023. It is expected to be the new entry-level model that will be positioned below the Portofino. Reports suggest that it could be powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine. Meanwhile, the replacement for the 488 GTB is due in 2019 but it is unlikely to be hybrid.
