Lanzante reveals McLaren F1-inspired 3-seater supercar

Lanzante has finally revealed the ‘Project 95-59’, and it’s slightly less exciting than we’d initially thought.

They say that looks can be deceiving. That’s been the case with this car. You would expect a McLaren F1-inspired 3-seater to be based on a hypercar. The Speedtail would be the ideal platform, but Lanzante chose the 750S instead.

The actual car looks smaller than what the teasers and leaked images suggested. It’s just over 4.5 meters long and features a bespoke exterior crafted in carbon fibre. It has a sharper nose section with a wide intake and a large splitter, and signature McLaren headlights.

There are large ducts on the door panels, split windows and high-mounted mirrors. The rear has also been completely reworked and has a lot of vents and ducts. The car has an active rear spoiler, a large diffuser and a central exhaust. It rides on newly designed, lightweight forged aluminium wheels which have links to the F1 GTR.

Powering the Project 95-59 is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces over 838 hp and 649 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The car is expected to weigh around 1250 kg.

The LM30 package saves another 20 kg. It includes super-lightweight forged aluminium wheels, Inconel exhaust headers, titanium secondary and tailpipe, titanium body fixings, and gold-plated heat-shielding throughout the engine bay and exhaust.
