The Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear is a hypercar built for the racetrack. In July, it set a new record at the Goodwood hill climb, and now, the track-focused version of the Jesko has gone on to set the fastest lap around Laguna Seca.

Koenigsegg’s factory test driver Markus Lundh piloted the Sadair’s Spear, completing the lap in a record time of 1 min 24.16 seconds. This despite having to install an additional, heavy muffler due to the strict noise limit on the day.

The Sadair’s Spear is a limited edition hyperca of which only 30 examples will be produced. It features a bespoke aero package that includes an active, top-mounted double-blade rear wing, refined underfloor strakes and wheel arch louvres. The car also features larger canards, hood vents, and hood scoops that are said to boost engine performance.

At its heart is a twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers 1625 hp on E85 fuel, up from 1300 hp. The car weighs 35 kg less than the standard Jesko, which further enhances its power-to-weight ratio beyond 1:1.
