Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is faster than a Bugatti Chiron!

As a final send-off to the mighty Challenger, Dodge has announced the launch of the Challenger SRT Demon 170 limited edition.

The Demon 170 is no ordinary Challenger, though. It packs a completely revised 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. It is based on the ‘Hellephant C170’ crate engine. Bolted on top of the motor is a 3.0-liter supercharger offering 40% more boost compared to the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

The result is a staggering 1025 hp at 6500 rpm and a frankly mind-boggling 945 lb-ft of torque. Of course, you need to run the engine on E85 fuel to extract the full potential. That being said, it can also run on E10 fuel, in which case, the power output drops to 900 hp and 810 lb-ft.

With so much grunt under the hood, you would expect the Challenger SRT Demon 170 to destroy the quarter-mile times. Well, destroy it does, clocking 0-60 mph in 1.66 seconds and 8.91 seconds to a 1/4 mile at 151.17 mph. As a result, Dodge now holds the crown for the fastest-accelerating production car in the world.

Dodge is building 3300 units of the Challenger SRT Demon 170, and production will begin in July 2023. While the official price tag is $96,000, we’ve been told that the car is already swapping hands for way more than that. We’re talking upwards of $200,000!
