The Aston Martin Valkyrie is turning out to be a terrible investment. If you had purchased the car with the aim of flipping it, chances are you won’t even recover your investment. Well-specced Valkyries are selling below sticker, and the recent example is chassis no. SCF4KRB44NGS70090, which was sold at the RM Sotheby’s Dubai auction for $2.6 million.
This left-hand-drive example was built to EU specifications and was delivered to Japan. It is finished in Lunar White with red graphics and has a gloss carbon fibre roof. The hypercar rides on Satin Black magnesium wheels and red brake calipers.
This Valkyrie has a polished carbon engine plenum, Inconel exhaust with black finishers, and a gloss carbon engine cover. Inside, it gets racing-style seats trimmed in Pure Black Deboss Alcantara with red stitching, Twin Satin carbon fibre roof inserts, 6-point race harnesses, and anodised switchgear in red. Together, the options on this car alone cost around $152,000, and it has just 52 miles on the odometer.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie was designed by F1 car designer Adrian Newey. The hypercar is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 hybrid that produces 1140 hp, enough to take it from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds. It’s an engineering and design masterpiece, producing 2 tonnes of downforce and can achieve 3.5 Gs in the corners. While that’s great on a racetrack, it’s highly compromised on public roads.
