Shelby American has revealed their new limited-edition Mustang. Dubbed as the ‘King of the Road’, the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR celebrates the brand’s 60th anniversary.
The GT500KR comes equipped with a host of upgrades. On the outside, the car gets a carbon fibre hood with cooling vents, a carbon front splitter and a rear diffuser. It also gets a carbon fibre rear spoiler for good measure.
Besides this, the GT500KR comes with rocker stripes and badges, marking the 60th anniversary of the brand. The car rides on 20-inch forged aluminium wheels wrapped in new performance-spec tires.
Shelby has a few options on offer. These include a Shelby widebody kit, a polished supercharger painted stripes and rear-seat delete with harness bar.
Under the hood is a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 that pumps out over 900 hp when fed with 93-octane juice.
Shelby American will build just 180 examples of the GT500KR. Production will commence in Q1 2022.
