Zagato reveals AGTZ Twin Tail based on the Alpine A110

Italian design house Zagato has taken the wraps off its latest creation – the AGTZ Twin Tail. It’s a tribute to the Alpine A220 that raced at Le Mans in the late 60s.

The Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail, short for Alpine Grand Tourer Zagato, is essentially a rebodied Alpine A110 sports car. The long tail design harks back to the Le Mans racer. But the unique thing about this is that it can be transformed into a short tail for daily use.

Apart from the elongated tail section, the AGTZ Twin Tail looks like a neo-retro Alpine A220. It even comes with a retro livery featuring the French tricolore on the rear section.

The Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail is powered by a 1.8-lire, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 249 hp. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic that sends power to the rear axle, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds.

Zagato is building 19 examples of the AGTZ, with a base price of €650,000. The car will be presented at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
