Mercedes-AMG One hypercar top speed autobahn

Mercedes-Benz

What’s it like to drive a Mercedes-AMG One at 217 mph on a public road?

The Mercedes-AMG One is a quick car, and the Autobahn is probably the best place in the world where you can stretch its legs without breaking the law. @gercollector recently took his AMG One for a spin on a section of a German highway where there are no speed limits. As you will see in this video, he was completely blown away by its acceleration.

According to Mercedes, the AMG One will do 0-62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, and 124 mph comes up in just 7 seconds. Naturally, the car reaches dizzying speeds in no time. Here, the owner demonstrates what’s it like to drive an F1-powered AMG hypercar at close to 217 mph on a public road. That’s very close to its claimed top speed of 219 mph.

The AMG One is powered by the same 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6 as Lewis Hamilton’s championship-winning F1 race car. The IC engine is paired with two electric motors for a combined output of 1063 hp. Mercedes claims the AMG One will do 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and 0-124 mph in 7 seconds.
