Earlier this year, Porsche set a new Nurburgring lap record with the Taycan Turbo GT. The carmaker claimed a lap time of 7 min 07.55 seconds and promised that an onboard video would be released later.
Now that the Taycan Turbo GT has been officially launched, Porsche has finally released the said video.
The new Nurburgring lap record for EVs was set by Lars Kern, Porsche’s development driver, in a Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Weissach package.
The Turbo GT variant of the Taycan packs 1092 hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.1 seconds. It has a top speed of 190 mph.
The Taycan Turbo GT is also the fastest electric production car to lap Laguna Seca. It completed the lap in 1 min 27.87 seconds.
