Watch the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport spit flames at full throttle
The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is quite literally a fire-breathing monster. Here’s a video of the hypercar shot at Hockenheim, in which, you can clearly see stationary blue flames emanating from the 3D printed exhaust.
The Pur Sport is more than just a downforce kit bolted onto a Chiron. It’s a track-focused version of the latter and features a slew of changes under the skin. For starters, the suspension is stiffer and tuned for optimal grip in the corners. The ratios in the dual-clutch transmission are shorter – designed for acceleration instead of outright top speed.
At its heart, is an 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine which pumps out 1500 hp and 1180 lb-ft. The engine revs to 6900 rpm, 200 rpm higher than the standard Chiron. 0-62 mph comes up in 2.3 seconds instead of 2.4 seconds and 124 mph comes up in 5.5 seconds instead of 6.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 217 mph.
