Watch Lewis Hamilton and George Russel drive Mercedes-AMG’s latest cars

Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russel have got a chance at driving the latest cars from Mercedes-AMG. The duo are teammates at the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team. Mercedes gave over the keys to the latest three AMG models to the drivers. The location for the event was none other than the Immendingen test track – which boasts of 30 different tracks and is spread over 1,300 acres.

Mercedes-AMG ONE

First up, both Russel and Hamilton try out the car with the real F1 engine. This is one of the most complex vehicles and comes with a 1.6-liter V6 engine and quad electric motors. The combined power output of the motors as well as the engine is 1,049 HP. This setup makes it highly complex for a road-legal vehicle. The 1.6-liter turbo V6 hybrid powered the Mercedes-AMG F1 W06 Formula 1 car and it revs all the way upto 11,000 rpm.

Mercedes is going to make only 275 units of the AMG ONE hypercar. All of these have been accounted for. That said, the only confirmed F1 driver to have taken delivery of this model is Valtteri Bottas.

Mercedes-AMG GT and C63 S E Performance

Hamilton then gets the keys to the new AMG GT while Russel gets behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance. The AMG GT gets an amazingly sounding engine which is louder than the tire squeals. Meanwhile, Russel’s four-cylinder engine lacks the aural stimulation but can still go sideways and more.
