Mercedes has been very transparent about changes the had to make to the car in order to be able to set a quick lap time. The coilovers were adjusted, while the sway bars were firmed up. The engineers also dialed in some negative camber at both ends, possibly to aid turn-in. A set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 MO tires were used on the record run.
