VIDEO: McLaren Senna leaves other supercars in the dust
Last year, Instagram user: @gercollector took his McLaren Senna during the parade lap of the Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring. As you might recall, the session didn’t end well as the car caught fire.
Since that unfortunate incident, the car has been repaired and restored. In fact, it was back at the same track recently. Keeping the Senna company were Lamborghinis, Porsches, Ferraris and BMWs but none could match its pace.
There have been quite a few incidents where the Senna has caught fire. Unlike Salomondrin’s Senna which completely burnt to the ground, @gercollector was a bit lucky.
Earlier this year, McLaren responded by announcing a recall of 157 units of the Senna for fire risk. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a foam pad mounted under the fuel tank that is meant to dampen vibrations was found to be the culprit.
