According to media reports, the truck got stuck on a crossing. The approaching train couldn’t stop in time, causing a fairly low speed impact. Therefore, the trailer and the cars suffered limited damage.

According to an eyewitness, the driver of the truck wasn’t familiar with the area. He tried to get on the other side of the Washington Ave. by crossing the railroad tracks. It is said that the crossing was not designed to handle a long and low trailer.
