Toyota Starts Taking Pre-Orders For the Supra in UK

The next-gen Supra is getting closer to production and today Toyota’s UK subsidiary announced that they have started taking deposits for the upcoming sports car.

Only 300 slots are made available in the country for 2019. So, if you have been waiting for the fifth generation of the incredibly popular sports car, you should go place an order right up. The pre-order which shall be placed at Toyota UK’s national consumer website or their local retailers’ web page or using the My Toyota app requires a refundable deposit of £1,000. Customers who register after the 300th slot will be given a place on the waiting list.

“With only limited numbers available, we want to give people the earliest opportunity to secure their vehicle,” said Toyota GB Marketing Director Andrew Cullis.

Toyota has also confirmed that the Supra will debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2019. Order books for the US and rest of Europe are expected to open around the new year.

The fifth-gen Supra will use a front-engine/rear-wheel-drive layout. The straight-six engine which is expected to deliver an output in excess of 300 hp will be coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. Rumors suggest that right-hand markets, including the UK, might get the option of a manual gearbox.
