Totalled! Ferrari Purosangue splits in half after a crash in China
A Ferrari Purosangue was recently totalled in China. Images shared on social media show the car lying in the middle of the road with a gaping hole in the front.
Details are scarce, but it appears that the Purosangue was travelling at high speed before wrecking out. The force of the impact was such that the complete front end was ripped apart, which suggests that the V12 engine and front sub-frame of the Purosangue are designed to dissipate the energy in case of a crash, similar to mid-engined supercars.
Now, this is not the first time we’ve seen a wrecked Purosangue. In March this year, a car fresh off the assembly line, crashed during a pre-delivery test in Maranello. It went off the tarmac and rolled over in a field. It too might be totalled, like this one from China.
The Ferrari Purosangue is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine that develops 725 hp and 528 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Ferrari claims a 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph.
