This Porsche 911 GT3’s gold paint was a $100,000 option!
A Porsche 911 GT3 Touring was recently delivered to Canada. It has an interesting spec. It’s also quite expensive, so we thought we’d share it with you.
Now, we aren’t fans of gold-painted cars, but this one here is definitely worth a look. This 911 GT3 Touring has a custom paint job, which isn’t part of the standard colour palette. The owner paid $100,000 just for the exclusive paint, officially called ‘Explosive Gold’.
It looks like dark-ish Gold with a Chrome finish. But, up close, you can see the golden flakes, which give it a metallic texture. The car appears to have a black interior and rides on gloss black alloy wheels.
The Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-6 engine that produces 502 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed PDK. The ‘Touring’ features the same powertrain wrapped in a more subtle exterior (sans the massive rear spoiler). However, there’s nothing subtle about the spec on this car.
