Audi has revealed the latest iteration of its sporty hatchback, the RS3. It will also be the last Audi to be powered by a 5-cylinder engine.

The 2025 Audi RS3 Sportback and Saloon are powered by the brand’s 2.5-liter TFSI engine. It produces 395 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Audi’s 5-pot engine has been in production for almost half a century. It is known for its unique sound thanks to its signature 1-2-4-5-3 firing order, and when combined with the twin RS exhaust system, it promises to provide the most evocative driving experience.

The engine and the exhaust note can best enjoyed on the new RS3 in the Dynamic, RS Performance and RS Torque Rear modes. Audi claims the 5-cylinder generates a consistent and fuller-bodied sound courtesy of the exhaust flap control, which has been optimized for 2200-3500 rpm.
