Tesla has announced some sizeable discounts on its Model 3 and Model Y in Australia, shortly after confirming that the Cybertruck will no longer be coming to the market. It isn’t quite a replacement for the electric truck, but it does make Tesla’s more conventional EVs considerably more tempting.

The company is offering discounts of up to $4,050 on eligible new Model 3 and Model Y vehicles currently in stock. Some demonstrator cars are also available with additional savings, while eligible buyers can receive a trade-in bonus of up to $2,000.

There are a few catches. The offer applies only to selected vehicles, with the Model Y Performance and entry-level Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive excluded from the discounts.

Customers must order and take delivery of an eligible vehicle by December 31, 2026, to qualify. Used-car purchases and business, fleet, rental and government buyers aren’t eligible.

For trade-ins, the vehicle must be registered and legally drivable.

  • The Cyber truck was never coming to Australia, that was pure fantasy. It could never be certified to drive on Australian roads, let alone converted to RHD. Nobody is buying them in the US except SpaceX and nobody would buy them in Australia even if they were available.
It’s almost like you guys know nothing about automobiles.
