VIDEO: Scott McLaughlin sets new Bathurst Lap Record

Scott McLaughlin set a new Bathurst lap record past weekend. The Kiwi driver put his DJR Team Penske Ford FG X Falcon on pole position as he blitzed the 3.861 mile circuit in 2 min 03.831 sec.

While it is still not as quick as the ultimate lap record of the Mount Panorama circuit, it is the fastest ever lap set by a V8 Supercar. The previous best time of 2 min 06.371 sec was set by David Reynolds back in 2014. The ultimate lap record stands at 1 min 48.88 sec which was set by Jenson Button in a McLaren MP4-23 Formula 1 car.
