Rumor: Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray Prices may Increase!
The $60,000 price tag may not stick around longer than a year as Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray starting prices may go up thereafter.
An anonymous source of Motor Trend has informed that the $60,000 starting price of the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray may not be offered when the model moves into its 2021 iteration. So do expect a significant revision in prices as the 2021 model makes its first appearance.
When the mid-engined C8 was launched with that unbelievable base model price of $59,995, including destination charge, the whole industry was surprised. The whole deal was such a bargain and many applauded Chevrolet for keeping its word of keeping the entry-level Stingray price below $60k.
So how much of an increase in prices should a prospective buyer prepare for in 2021? Unfortunately, that’s not a piece of information which was available with the undisclosed source.
Turning a few pages back in the Corvette’s history book, we find that the 2014 Corvette was launched with a starting price of $51,995 and a few months later the sticker read $53,993. When the 2015 model arrived, the base model price rose to $55,995. That’s a neat $4,000 hike.
Our thoughts? Even if Chevy applies the same math to the mid-engined C8 Corvette Stingray’s pricing, the new offering will continue to be a superb value-for-money sports car to buy.
