Rimac Nevera sets new production EV lap record at the Nurburgring
The Rimac Nevera has set a new production EV lap record at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The electric hypercar completed a lap of the 20.8 km long racetrack in 7 min 5.298 seconds, comprehensively beating the time set by the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack.
The record was set by Croatian racing driver Martin Kodrić, on a fairly hot and sunny day. According to Misha Charoudin, if the weather had been a little cooler, the Nevera would’ve posted a sub-7 min laptime.
The Rimac Nevera is powered by four electric motors that have a combined output of 1888 hp and 1741 lb-ft of torque. In a recent test conducted at the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility, the Nevera clocked a 0-60 mph time of 1.74 seconds and went on to set a new 0-249 mph-0 record.
