Red Bull RB17 hypercar to debut at Goodwood in July 2024

Of late, Red Bull Racing has been news following the exit of Adrian Newey, the Chief Technical Officer of the Formula 1 team. Newey has also been involved in the RB17 hypercar project and will complete it before leaving the company. 

In an official statement released by Red Bull, the team confirmed that Newey will focus on the final development and delivery of the RB17. It also confirmed that the hypercar will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July this year.

The Red Bull RB17 hypercar is a track car built on the lines of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro and the like. It will be powered by a naturally aspirated V10 engine that revs to 15,000 rpm. The ICE engine, which produces 1000 hpwill be paired with a 200 hp electric motor. A combined output of 1200 hp will be more than sufficient, with a claimed weight of less than 900 kg.

Newey’s design will generate up to 1700 kg of downforce at 150 mph. The car’s lift-to-drag ratio has been described as “unheard of” by Newey himself.
