Porsche Taycan Turbo GT goes from 0-60 mph in under 2 seconds!

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has become the first vehicle tested by ‘Car and Driver’ to complete the 0-60 mph dash in under 2 seconds.

The Taycan Turbo GT was quicker than the Porsche 918 Spuder and the even mighty Bugatti Veyron, registering a time of 1.9 seconds to 60 mph. Car and Driver had earlier tested the Bugatti and the 918, and these purpose-built hypercars did it in 2.5 seconds and 2.1 seconds, respectively.

The Taycan Turbo GT is the baddest Porsche EV you can buy. Earlier this year, it set a Nurburgring lap record of 7 min 07.55 seconds.

The Taycan Turbo GT can also be equipped with the Weissach package, which ditches the rear seats and is 165 lbs lighter than the standard version. However, the test car was the 4-seat version riding on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires.

The Turbo GT variant of the Taycan packs 1092 hp from its four electric motors. It has a top speed of 190 mph, but Porsche’s 0-60 mph time of 2.1 seconds is a bit conservative.
