It’s good news, if you live in America. The Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake is coming to the US along with the next generation Panamera.

This was confirmed by Porsche Cars North America CEO Klaus Zellmer while speaking to Automotive News. “We have to have some patience for [the wagon] to arrive in the U.S.,” Zellmer told AN. “But we are confident that this car will be well received here, despite the fact that this country doesn’t really like hatchbacks or wagons,” he said.

Porsche first showcased the Sport Gran Turismo Wagon Concept back in 2012. Designed along the lines of the Panamera, the wagon takes shape of a premium four-door hatchback. The production car is expected to make its debut alongside the 2017 Panamera at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

Moreover, if the introduction of the Panamera Shooting Brake prompt other car makers like Mercedes-Benz to accept the challenge and launch the CLS station wagon in the US needs to be seen.
