Porsche debuts most powerful Panamera: 771 hp Turbo S E-Hybrid

Porsche has revealed the new top-of-the-line variants of the Panamera: GTS and Turbo S E-Hybrid. The latter being the most powerful iteration of the brand’s four-door saloon ever.

The new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid features a front-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that generates 591 hp. It is paired with a 187 hp electric motor integrated into the PDK dual-clutch transmission. The result is a combined output of 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. That’s 101 hp and 111 lb-ft more than the old powertrain.

Porsche claims the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 202 mph. It’s not only quicker than the old model, but also more efficient. The 25.9 kWh battery stores 45% more energy, giving the car an electric-only range of up to 55 miles.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid recently set the fastest lap time for ICE-based luxury cars at the Nurburgring. It completed a lap of the 12.9-mile circuit in 7 min 24.17 seconds, beating the previous record set by the Panamera Turbo S.
