Porsche Boxster & Cayman production to end by mid-2025
Ever since Porsche announced the electric Boxster, the ICE version of the brand’s smallest sports car was destined to be phased out. The Boxster, along with the Cayman, will go out of production by mid-2025.
Albrecht Reimold, Member of the Executive Board, Production and Logistics at Porsche, has confirmed that the production of the Boxster and Cayman will end by the middle of next year. Speaking about the upcoming EV, Reimold told Automobilwoche that it will be a “real fun car.”
The fourth-generation Boxster and Cayman were introduced in 2016. According to media reports, the 718 Boxster and Cayman have already been discontinued in Europe following the rollout of new cybersecurity norms.
The 718 range will be replaced with the Boxster EV, which is expected to go on sale in 2025.
