Porsche 918 Spyder sells for a record $3.93 million at auction
A Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach, one of many Porsches part of “The White Collection”, has been sold for a record sum of $3.93 million, beating the previous best by $1.95 million. The hypercar was offered at the RM Sotheby’s auction held in Houston, TX.
This Porsche 918 Spyder is a one-of-a-kind, featuring over $96,000 worth of bespoke options from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The car is painted in Grand Prix White and has a Yachting Blue leather interior. It rides on magnesium wheels painted to match the exterior and is also equipped with the Weissach package. Besides the unique colours, this 918 Spyder has matte carbon fiber trim and a Porsche Design 918 Spyder Chronotimer.
The 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine paired with two electric motors. It has a combined output of 875 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque, which enables the all-wheel drive hypercar to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 214 mph.
Porsche produced 918 examples of its flagship hypercar between 2013 and 2015. This particular example has merely 12 miles on the odometer.
