As per reports, the accident took place just before 2:30 pm on Richmond Road near Hunter Avenue in Staten Island. The Porsche was approaching a red light at around 35 mph and tried to slow down. However, it seemed to lose its ability to brake.

One of the occupants further stated that the brakes were applied with full force, but no stopping power was achieved. Therefore, to avoid hitting the cars stopped at the red light, the driver tried to get on the curb, which led to hitting the bus stop pole.

However, the driver of the Porsche had a different story. He told the police that the car’s gas pedal got stuck, which caused the Porsche to crash into a Volkswagen.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the highly sought-after hypercars of the modern era and is valued at upwards of $1 million. It has 887 hp on tap and all-wheel drive.
