Porsche 918 Spyder factory tour

Porsche 918 Spyder factory tour

The Porsche 918 Spyder is the latest supercar from the legendary German brand. The new hybrid supercar that replaces the Carrera GT is built at Zuffenhausen, Germany. The factory at which the car is put together has been customized to allow a seamless production process with each work station requiring around 110 minutes before the chassis moves on to the next. An exclusive factory tour gives a good idea of how much work goes into making a supercar like the 918.

The assembly line uses robots to deliver parts to the specific workstations. Porsche relies of “Just in Time” delivery of parts which further smoothens the production process. Porsche also offer bespoke customization options for buyers who would like to add that little bit of personal touch to their supercar. The video shows 918 Spyders being built for various markets of the world including the US and Middle East. Also, not the Arabic markings on the ORVMS which probably read, “objects in the mirror are closer than they appear”.
