Porsche 911 Hybrid to be unveiled this summer
The Porsche 911 will soon be available with a hybrid powertrain option. In fact, according to Porsche’s Annual and Sustainability Report for 2023, the hybrid sports car could debut this summer.
The next generation of the 911 family will include an “ultra-sporty hybrid”, which is said to be faster and more efficient than the current model. The electrified 6-cylinder engine is expected to be offered in multiple derivatives of the 911.
The next-gen 911 GT2 RS could be one of the models to feature an electrified powertrain. Rumors suggest it could use a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine paired with a mild-hybrid setup, offering over 700 hp. It is expected to debut in 2026.
As per some unconfirmed reports, the 911 Hybrid will have a 48V starter motor built into the dual-clutch automatic transmission. Higher variants could use an electric motor to drive the front wheels while the combustion engine will power the rear axle.
