Porsche 911 GT2 RS Humiliates Lamborghini Aventador S in Drag Race

The Lamborghini Aventador S and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS are as different as any two supercars can be. While the Aventador is a straight line monster, the GT2 RS is a cornering machine. What happens when you pit the two cars in a drag race?

Well, on the paper, it would be hard for one to predict a winner. The Aventador S produces 740 hp and 507 lb-ft from its 6.5-liter V12, while the GT2 RS churns out 690 hp and 553 lb-ft out of its 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat six. The Lamborghini tips the scale at 1,575 kilograms (3,472 pounds) which is around 100 kg (220 pounds) more than the Porsche which weighs 1,470 kg (3,241 pounds).

The race takes place on an airstrip in Switzerland. The host Luke first has to figure out how the launch control on the Aventador works. After fumbling a little bit with the system, the guy finally figures out the process as “Thrust Mode Possible” shows up on the screen.

After an initial test run with the Aventador S, Luke is ready to take on the 911 GT2 RS. What happens afterwards is something we did not expect. The two cars race another round before the Aventador’s computer refuses to launch for the fourth time.
