Porsche 718 RS Spyder spotted during photoshoot

Last year, it was said that Porsche was preparing a more powerful version of the 718 Spyder. Now, images of the car during a photoshoot have surfaced online. The Porsche 718 RS Spyder will also be the last of the 718s to get an internal combustion engine.

Visually, we can make out that the car is shod in the Weissach Pack. This adds a few lightweight bits to reduce the weight of the car. It was first offered on the 918 Spyder.

Apart from that, the car looks more aggressive compared to the standard Boxster. The car has NACA ducts on the hood along with centre-lock wheels, and vents in the rear quarter panels as well.

Coming to the powerplant, the car could have the Porsche’s naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine. This engine is found in the 911 GT3 and develops 493 HP and 331 lb-ft. of peak torque. Further, it has a 9,000 rpm engine. This engine could make the 718 RS Sypder a hoot to drive. If equipped, we can say that the 0-60 mph time could be under 3.2 seconds.
