Porsche 718 Boxster Prototype Spotted in Italy

Our favorite entry-level Porsche now gets a smaller yet sportier 4-cylinder engine. The mid-mounted 2.0-liter engine is turbocharged for that extra oomph. Here are a few images of a 718 Boxster prototype that was spotted in Lecce, Italy.

The model seen here is the 718 Boxster S featuring a 350 hp version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-pot. The Boxster S can also be differentiated from the standard car by its dual-tip central exhaust and larger diameter wheels.

This 718 Boxster prototype looks quite understated in silver. However, the contrasting black surfaces including the dark lens lights add a sporty touch. Another feature that this prototype is equipped with is the optional PDK dual-clutch transmission.
