Pininfarina Automobili SUV and Sedan are on the Way!

The Pininfarina Battista hypercar won’t be the only newsmaker to come from the all-new player in the market. An SUV and a sedan living up to the premium image will follow suit in less than three years.

The Pininfarina Battista all-electric hypercar has grabbed the headlines and the attention of billionaires around the world since its 2019 Geneva Motor Show debut. But Automobili Pininfarina won’t be relying solely on a $2 million hypercar to stay in business and of course to grow as a carmaker.

Automotive News Europe got to chat with the company’s CEO Michael Perschke and this is what he had to say, “It’s our clear strategic intent is to become a significant player in the hypercar and super-luxury segment. We have a very clear intent to not remain a one-hit wonder.”

In the next couple of years, the company will expand its product line-up to accommodate more body styles including a sedan and an SUV with premium placement in the respective segments. Prices will fall in the 200,000 and 400,000 euro bracket.

In order to make the plan viable, Automobili Pininfarina will team up with an established player to create a scalable electric vehicle platform. A flat battery pack platform placed low between the wheels will allow the design and engineering divisions to create a range of body styles on the same canvas.

In more Battista news, the 1,900 hp, 1,700 lb-ft hypercar will be making an appearance in production guise at the Monterey Car Week later this month. The company will be utilizing the event to discuss its expanded portfolio plans with focus groups too.
