Panamera-Rivaling Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Sedan Coming in 2019
Mercedes-AMG GT 4 is a four-door premium sedan planned for 2019. The new model will add to the growing GT family and will rival the likes of the Porsche Panamera Turbo and the likes.
According to Autocar, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4 will first appear as a Vision concept next year and will be part of 50th anniversary celebrations of the brand.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 4 will be based off the “modular rear architecture” that underpins other AMG models. That said, the AMG GT 4 will have a unique wheelbase and track. It will be offered with a conventional four-door, four-seat configuration and a bespoke suspension tuned for performance driving.
Engine and Drivetrain
The new model is expected to be powered by AMG’s 4.0-liter V8 Bi-turbo engine producing around 600 hp. Moreover, Mercedes-AMG is also developing an “integrated starter generator” (ISG) which will provide a boost of 20 hp via an electric motor coupled to the transmission
It will feature the 4Matic four-wheel drive system with a feature that will send 100 percent of the torque to the rear axle. The AMG GT4 will also be available with adjustable air-springs for optimum ride comfort.
