Pagani Huayra BC Roadster sets a new lap record at Spa Francorchamps

It’s not often that we hear about a Pagani setting a new lap record. It doesn’t mean that their cars aren’t capable enough.

It’s that rare occasion when Pagani has actually gone out and set a new lap record. The Huayra BC Roadster lapped the Spa Francorchamps circuit in 2 min 23.08 seconds. Watch the test driver hustle the million dollar hypercar through Eau Rouge.

Pagani engineers were at the famous racetrack nestled among the Ardennes mountains in Belgium for the car’s final validation. The team finished their test program ahead of scheduled and were curious to find out how quickly the hypercar could lap the racetrack. Having received the go-ahead from boss Horacio Pagani, the team let the Huayra BC Roadster lose on the tarmac.

It is the most hardcore version of the Huayra and is powered by AMG’s 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V12. The updated engine features new turbochargers and produces 791 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed single-clutch automatic transmission, which drives the rear wheels.
