Over 3500 Bentley Bentayas recalled over risk of fuel leak and fire

Bentley has recalled 3527 units of the Bentayga over fire risk. SUVs manufactured between March 2016 and June 2023 are said to be affected by this issue.

Bentley discovered a fuel leak near the top of the fuel tank in certain models. From July 2022 to August 2023, engineers at Bentley toiled to find the root cause of the leak.

It was found that electrical connectors on the fuel supply module in the fuel tank can overheat, causing the flange to melt. This, in turn, resulted in a fuel leak near the top of the tank.

Bentley claims that the redesigned flange with larger connectors should prevent this issue. The company will be reaching out to owners from September 29 onwards, asking them to get the part replaced at their nearest authorised dealer.
