One-off Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2 for sale at auction
The Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2 is headed to auction on March 29. It’s a one-off four-door hatchback with a V12 engine up front.
The Bertone Jet 2+2 was commissioned by Barry Weir, an Aston Martin collector. It was built to celebrate the 60 anniversary of Aston Martin and the Italian design house Bertone.
Initially, 10 cars were planned, but only a single unit was completed before Bertone shut shop.
The Jet 2+2 is based on the first-gen Vanquish, while its design draws inspiration from the 2004 Bertone Jet 2 concept. It is essentially a re-bodied Rapide with a shortened tail section. The interior has been carried over from the Rapide as well.
Under the bonnet is a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 476 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. This naturally aspirated motor enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in approximately 5.3 seconds.
