One more Chevy Corvette Z06 blows engine after running-in

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 boasts of the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in a production car. This 5.5-litre V8 makes 670 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque. However, there have been multiple reports of engine problems in this model. Now, one more Corvette Z06 has had its engine blown just after its running-in period.

The engine failed after just 621 miles on the clock. For such a low mileage car, the owner would definitely be disappointed in his brand new car. Infact, Youtuber steelankles has managed to capture the whole incident on camera.

However, kudos to Chevrolet for getting right to work on the car. The company replaced the engine with a brand new one in just two weeks.

Chevrolet has made many deliveries made to the customers, and it is not very confidence inspiring when your car’s engine blows up. That too with such low miles. The saving grace is the fact that these failures have been pretty rare and Chevy is taking prompt action on them.

The exact cause is not yet revealed, but the owner speculated that it could be a spun rod bearing.
