On-board a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport at the Nurburgring

Last month, Bugatti took the Chiron Pur Sport to the Bilster Berg circuit in Germany. Matthias Malmedie got a rare chance to ride along in the prototype as it was being thrashed around the racetrack. This week, the Pur Sport takes on a more challenging circuit.

Earlier this week, the Chiron Pur Sport was spotted testing at the Nurburgring along with a Divo prototype. In between the test sessions, Misha Charoudin got a chance to hop on for a quick lap. The on-board footage shared by Misha on his Youtube channel gives a good sense of how quickly the Pur Sport gathers speed. On almost every occasion where it could stretch its legs, the car hits 200 mph within no time.

Now, the Chiron Pur Sport has been designed exactly for this kind of tarmac – twisty, undulating sections with high speed straights in between. As you know, the suspension has been firmed up and the aero tweaked for improved handling. The 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine also revs a lot higher than in the standard Chiron.
