Millionaire cranes McLaren Senna GTR to his 57th-floor penthouse
Australian businessman Adrian Portelli recently got his $1.7 million McLaren Senna GTR crane hoisted into his high-rise penthouse in Melbourne.
According to 9News, the supercar was hoisted to the 57th floor of the Sapphire by the Gardens building on Exhibition Street, where it will become the “centrepiece” of the millionaire’s $26 million apartment.
As you are aware, the McLaren Senna GTR is not road legal. Since the owner is unable to drive it regularly, he decided to turn it into an art piece.
“It was sitting in a factory, and I can’t drive it on the road,” Protelli said. “I decided to have it craned up there instead. It’s an art piece.”
The track-only Senna GTR uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that puts out 814 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the regular Senna, the GTR gets a more extreme aerodynamics package, besides several track-focused upgrades and rides on slick tires.
