Mid-engined C8 Corvette ZR1 prototype attacks the Nurburgring
A test mule of the 2025 Chevrolet C8 Corvette ZR1 was recently spotted at the Nurburgring for the first time. We had shared spy images of the upcoming ZR1 earlier this week. Now, another ZR1 prototype has been spied lapping the Nordschleife.
There are subtle differences between the earlier prototype and the one seen in this video. While the bodywork looks identical, the rear spoiler is much shorter than the one seen before. It’s unclear if the shorter wing would be part of an optional package, with the more track-focused version getting the larger wing. The test mule fitted with the larger wing can be seen in the latter part of the video. Also note that the weird exhaust tips, which, unlike the previous test mule are angled downwards.
The C8 Corvette ZR1 is expected to be powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine paired with a couple of turbochargers. No wonder the test mule lapping the track sounds a bit muted compared to the Corvette Z06.
