Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro to be Revealed at 2018 LA Auto Show
Mercedes will reveal an even more extreme AMG GT R Pro at the upcoming LA Auto Show. The company has revealed nothing more than a teaser on its social media saying that the model will be closer to motor racing than ever before.
Seeing the front of the car from teaser alone, we can spot a few differences from the GT R. First up, there are numerous aero tweaks in store, especially up front with various fins and air ducts in the fascia. The hood features a racing stripe which may be available on the production car as an option. We have been seeing spy shots of the AMG GT R Pro for months now. From what we have seen on the camouflaged car running around the Nurburgring, it should have quad exhaust pipes, a larger diffuser and a larger rear wing than the one on the standard GT R. Everything else on the exterior is largely the same as on the AMG GT R.
That shouldn’t be the case with the powertrain though, as we expect to see a power bump from GT R’s 577 horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The GT R Pro could have upwards of 600 hp. It could also be lighter compared to the GT R, as result of more carbon fiber and thinning down of materials and equipment on the interior.
We wont have to wait much longer to see and know more of the AMG GT R Pro as the LA Auto Show starts on November 28, 2018.
