McLaren P1 Spider by Lanzante debuts at Goodwood

Lanzante has stunned everyone on the very first day of the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed by showcasing a McLaren P1 Spider.

The McLaren P1 Spider was commissioned by a customer, and who better to build one than the experts at Lanzante. The team started with a standard P1 road car and removed its glass roof panels. The upper roof structure and air intake were also separated from the carbon chassis. The removable roof can be stowed away in the vehicle.

Lanzante then replaced the parts with bespoke carbon buttresses with a custom intake to feed air directly to the turbochargers. Lanzante does admit that they had to make minor changes to the chassis of the P1 to maintain its rigidity.

At the heart of the P1 Spider is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Only 375 McLaren P1s exist. Lanzante plans to build 5 P1 Spiders.
