McLaren Launches 4K Real Time Digital Configurator for the 600LT
After launching the first ever virtual reality configurator, McLaren has decided to up their configurator game once again with a new real-time digital configurator. The new configurator provides a three-dimensional image of the car in 4K.
The real-time 3D software will allow customers to spec their 600LT in 28 different body colors. Out of all the color options, three are exclusive to the 600LT: Myan Orange, Chicane Effect (gray), and Luminaire (green) and 14 have been picked off the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) pallete.
Customers can also explore the six different ‘By McLaren’ Designer themes and extensive range of performance-oriented options for the interior. The interior themes selected by McLaren’s design team consist of three Alcantara and Nappa Leather trims each.
To demonstrate the pioneering configuration software, McLaren invited chief test driver Kenny Brack and brand ambassador Bruno Senna to spec their own 600LTs.
Brack selected Sicilian Yellow exterior paint and matched it with a full Carbon Black Alcantara interior. The MSO Defined 6-Point Harnesses – one of the features included in the MSO Clubsport Pro option pack for the 600LT, were specified in blue and Azure Blue brake calipers to create a visual theme inspired by the flag colours of his home country of Sweden. Brack omitted the luxury features for a more track-focused spec.
Senna on the other hand configured his 600LT in Burton Blue from the MSO Defined range of exterior colours, complemented by a full Carbon Black Alcantara interior. The Brazilian specified the brake calipers in yellow but selected McLaren Orange for both harnesses and seat belts. He opted for a more road-going specification with air conditioning, Bowers and Wilkins audio system, rear-view camera and the vehicle lift system.
The new McLaren 600LT is priced from £185,500 in the UK and $240,000 in the U.S. McLaren says the 12 month production run of the car is nearly fully allocated. The 4k configurator will soon be available to McLaren customers at the company’s dealerships.
For us mere mortals however, there’s always the old-fashioned 2d configurator to play around with our dream spec.
