Maserati and David Beckham tie up for GranTurismo
To announce the comeback of the Maserati GranTurismo, the Italian carmaker has tied up with footballer David Bekham. In the latest avatar, the GranTurismo brings back the memories of the car from yesteryears. This should make us enthusiasts pretty happy.
What does the video showcase?
In the video, the carmaker wants to show that the GT can do both – be comfortable when you want and at the same time drive the car spiritedly when needed. The video is titled as “GranTurismo and David Beckham – From you to a new you”.

The new Maserati GranTurismo comes with the latest Nettuno V6 motor. This engine first made its debut with the MC20. Further, all the GT models get all-wheel drive as standard but have an inherent rear bias. With three models on offer, one of them comes with an all-electric option as well.
In the Modena variant, the V6 develops 489 HP and 442 lb-ft. of peak torque.The Trofeo version sits higher and churns out 550 HP and 479 lb-ft. of maximum torque.The all-electric Folgore comes with an 800V platform and comes with three 300 kW electric motors. This allows the car to have a combined output of 750 HP and 995 lb-ft. of torque. Maserati has equipped the car with a T-shaped battery of 92.5 kWh capacity. The 0-62 mph time is claimed to be 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 198 mph. The ICE versions, meanwhile, can do the same sprint in 3.5 and 3.9 seconds for the Trofeo and Modena respectively.
